How to Open Your Own Business in 2019
What are your goals for the new year?
At this time of year we always pause to check our accomplishments of the year that is almost done and to make new goals. This past year one of our main goals was probably not what you think: we decided to put personal development at the top of our list. Why? Because personal development is the key to achieving a successful entrepreneurial business. Working on your mindset is one of the most important things you can do.
For 2019 we have a new range of goals for ourselves and our business. But also for our new venture into consulting. We started consulting a bit in 2018 and found it to be personally fulfilling. But more than that, we realize that people need our help.
We remember when we started our business. We were in professional careers and simply wanted something more. We wondered if we would stay in our stressful jobs with a hurried pace forever. We missed out on all the fun family events because of work. What else was out there? Wouldn’t it be fun to start a business? We decided to start a food business. Why did we choose a bakery? Well, we love desserts and it seemed to fit our personalities!
When we were exploring interests in opening a business we wondered how to gain skills to start a bakery? Should we go to pastry school? How do we do this? We researched a lot and typically came up empty handed in the answers. So we charged fearlessly forward and created our own path. Wow, that seems like a long time ago and soooooooo many man hours.
We have learned a lot. First, each of us have twenty years in the professional services world as a background to help people. We also have eight years of owning our bakery business—-starting it from concept and putting in the work to make it the successful bakery that it is—-we have a production bakery, we provide wholesale to restaurants, we cater weddings, we ship nationwide and we have a retail shop. GRATITUDE is at the top of our list today. We are so GRATEFUL to have made it. There were so many times we almost gave up. There were so many moments we felt like a failure. There was even that one winter we almost went out of business.
So in 2019 we start helping and teaching others the way. We have always been one to help a sister NOT bring her down. This business can be very competitive and we have noticed that nobody likes to help with information. We are a wealth of it and we want to share it to help others grow successful creative food businesses. So if that interests you, check into our new membership site and let 2019 be the year you create something amazing of your own!!
