The TSP Scavenger Hunt
Two years ago in October we decided to hold a Scavenger Hunt. Everyday for 31 days we created a riddle that held the location of a "Bluebird Ticket". The person that solved the riddle proceeded to the location where the riddle led them, searched for and found a ticket with a Bluebird on it, and won the prize on back of the ticket.
Well, we garnered quite a few die-hard fans of riddles, scavenger hunts and sweet treats. Our Scavenger Hunt became iconic and while every year we say, "we won't do it again"---we do it again.
The reason we say "we're not doing that anymore" is because coming up with riddles is more work than you might think. We'll be in the shop baking, covered in flour, and suddenly remember we need a riddle. Then we panic and bad things happen to the buttercream. But Nina has a talent for rhyming and Michelle has a talent for hiding things. It's the perfect combination for a Scavenger Hunt and so, we cannot disappoint our fans. It's on again this year. Just not 31 days. Maybe 21 days.
The days are shorter
The nights grow long
The Bluebird is hiding
Waiting for you to come along
Sometimes the hunt is during the day. Sometimes at night. Sometimes very late at night. No matter when it is, people still go to find that ticket. They crawl around on the ground. They jump up high. They look under, over and above. Now they know us too well and we fear this year is going to be the most challenging of them all.
We don't sit in our car and watch you look for the ticket. What, do you think we have time for that? We don't do that. Seriously.
This year we have partnered with some local businesses to offer some prizes that aren't just sweet treats. Makes it more tempting to go out in your pajamas at 10 pm, doesn't it? Although, people would still go out just for cake. Sometimes we post a picture on facebook and people come into the shop in their pajamas. The lure of cake. . . .
He's been waiting and watching
All this past year
Waiting for the start of a new season
So that he can reappear
Last year someone won 100 mini cupcakes and came in for a dozen box every couple of weeks. That was a smart use of that prize!
If you played last year
You remember the fun
You know you had to be quick
Think fast and even run
This year we have made it easier for those people who live farther away to play. We are going to tell you at the start of the week what days and what time of day we are posting the riddle. I cannot express to you how fast our players are at seeing the riddle, solving it and finding the ticket. THEY.ARE.QUICK.
LIKE REALLY QUICK
So, if you think you have what it takes to beat all those other show-offs. . .
If you're new to our hunt
Get your thinking cap out
Here come the riddles
If you think you know the answer DON'T SHOUT
But go quickly to the place
where the riddle guides all
Find the Bluebird ticket
Take a pic and POST TO OUR WALL
The prize is only conditioned on one thing: YOU MUST POST YOUR WIN SO THAT OUR FOLLOWERS CAN SEE!!!
The only way people know to stop looking is if you post it! You snap a pic and post! We all love the photos. Take it of you crawling on the ground or looking under rocks (it happens); of your cute kids in their pajamas that you made get out of bed to go hunt (don't feel bad, everybody does it) or just the ticket. Just post it and claim the bragging rights!
We love doing this for you! Show us some love on Social Media and Like and Share our posts pleeeeeaaaaaaassssssse!
Now get out there and HUNT!
